The difference between condenser and evaporator
Both condensers and evaporators are heat exchangers. The so-called heat exchange is a device that transmits heat between two or more fluids with different temperatures, so it is also called a heat exchange device.
The working form of condenser and evaporator is different, the condenser is to cool the medium to liquefy, external heat release; Evaporator is the medium endothermic gasification, absorb external heat, that is, the refrigerant is changed from gas to liquid, is a condensation heat release process, its internal pressure is generally very high; The refrigerant of the evaporator is changed from liquid to gas, which is an evaporative endothermic process, and its internal pressure is generally low. In summary, the condenser is one of the main heat exchange equipment in the refrigeration unit. Its function is to cool and condense the superheated steam of the refrigerant discharged by the booster pressure refrigerator into refrigerant liquid, and release heat into the cooling medium. Commonly used cooling media are: water and air.
Therefore, although the structure of the condenser and the evaporator are diverse, the working principle is the same, and they are all heat exchangers through the refrigerant and the external medium flowing through the surface of the container. In terms of the factors affecting heat transfer, the condenser and evaporator are the same, and the heat transfer is related to the heat transfer area, heat transfer temperature difference and heat transfer coefficient.
Evaporator is a equipment used for heat exchange between refrigerant and low temperature heat source in refrigeration system, and is also one of the main heat exchange equipment in refrigeration equipment. In the evaporator, the refrigerant liquid vaporizes at low pressure and low temperature to absorb the heat of the cooled medium and become the refrigerant dry saturated gas or superheated steam under low temperature and low pressure, thus generating and output cold capacity in the refrigeration system. The evaporator is located between the throttle valve and the return air main pipe of the refrigerator or connected between the liquid supply and return gas pipe of the vapor-liquid separation equipment, and is installed in the cold room or place where cooling and freezing are required.
