Usually horizontal arrangement, the fins are tightly attached to the copper pipe to form an efficient heat exchange surface.

Working principle

The refrigerant flows in the copper tube and absorbs heat through the evaporation process, reducing the temperature of the refrigerant in the tube.
At the same time, the aluminum fins dissipate the heat outside the tube into the air, achieving the exchange of heat.
The air-cooled design means that the evaporator relies on natural wind or forced ventilation to accelerate heat dissipation and improve heat exchange efficiency.

Considerations

Corrosion

Although copper and aluminum themselves are relatively corrosion resistant, in certain environments with high humidity, presence of corrosive elements in the air or in the refrigerant, corrosion issues can occur over time. Special coatings or treatments may be needed in some cases.
